Thanks! I’m in a period of acute scrutiny of my meds right now and it just dawned on me while taking out the trash: there really is no difference between herbal medicine and psychiatric medicine when you acknowledge that humans are a part of nature—that humans ARE nature—and can’t get outside of it.
I am known. By the universe, we are all known as we are. And maybe the universe says to some of us “you’ve learned the lessons of mania and depression well enough, here’s a salve for the broken times you find yourself in.”
Maybe others need the unmedicated experience. I don’t want to proselytize. But I think it’s my karma to do the Work on myself with the help of skills, community, *and* pills.
Prescribed Prayer really hit home. Resented having to be dependent, but meds enabled me to have and enjoy a family.
