Thanks for writing this. I resonate with what you say, as a person who used to be very explosive and is cultivating a more centered and accepting approach. Also, Baby on the way is a tender and special place to be. I have a toddler and do feel like, most of the time the most sacred and meaningful work I can do is simply be present with my child. And to heal myself in such a way that i can cultivate the calmness of being able to even be present

Thanks for the validation! I know a bit about that explosiveness. I went from punching a mirror and getting 14 stitches at 17 to this whole “I Am Lovingawareness” thing at 35.

I’m happy my kids are getting raised by this guy and not the previous incarnation, but maybe that experience of integrating anger, being patient with it and expressing it more healthfully, can help them through their own teenage issues, when they inevitably arise…

(Side note: the nurse said I really only needed 13 stitches, but “breaking a mirror is bad luck enough as it is.” Har har.)
